JACQUE'S
Dance
EXPRESSIONS

Amanda Blanchard grew up dancing in Yuba City, California. She has worked as an instructor, choreographer, actress, and dancer for the past 6 years. The majority of Amanda’s training came in her high school years through the Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts and Jacque’s Dance Expressions. She furthered her training when she chose to attend Loyola Marymount University where she received her degree in Dance with an emphasis in performance and teaching. She is proud to have trained under the guidance of instructors such as Tekla Kostek, Holly Johnston, and Paige Porter. Amanda’s commitment to learning has left her as a well rounded choreographer, teacher and dancer for many dance styles and forms including Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Hawaiian Dance, Swing, Salsa, Yoga, Creative Dance, and Improvisation.

Amanda has been caught performing in plays and events in the Yuba Sutter Community. She has played the part of Mrs. Flannery in “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and parts in various other theatrical productions including Mrs. Ford in Shakespeare’s, “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, and Maisie in the musical, “The Boyfriend.” Amanda’s Dance career has allowed her to work with some of the most talented choreographers including Cornelious Carter, Loretta Livingston, Denise Leitner, Paige Porter, Holly Johnston, Stephanie Jamieson, and Scott Heinzerling. She has also worked as a choreographer alongside Jacque Dake, helping to create numbers for several musicals, competitions, and other dance shows. You can find her performing here and there at other local events including Way Way Way Off Broadway put on by the Yuba City Rotary Club.

Her second love is working behind the scenes and creating the sets, props, costumes, and practices necessary to allow for a smooth show. She has been directing, producing, and managing plays and productions since she got her first taste of wardrobe management by volunteering to help out in a production put on by the Western Opera Theatre of San Francisco. Since then Amanda has been the stage manager for various dance productions and student run shows in the Yuba Sutter Community.

Amanda is excited to be back at Jacque’s Dance Expressions after spending the past 5 years in Los Angeles. She is excited to be working with the teaching and office staff and to get to know all of the dancers and parents at J.D.E. See you at the studio!!!
