Dancers gearing up to display talent at Mosaic

Annual Dancer's Mosaic highlights many dance styles

'Just about every dance style" there is will be performed at Jacque's Dance Expressions' annual Dancer's Mosaic.

That's according to Janice Ray, vice president of the JDE Booster Club, which is putting on the show, now in its fifth year.

Performances are at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Marysville Community Auditorium, 1919 B St., Marysville.

Among those styles of dance to be showcased at the Dancer's Mosaic is jazz, lyrical, modern and hip-hop.

"This is not a recital. ... This is the only opportunity to see our competitive team perform," Ray said. "They will be performing the routines they perform as they travel around California and Nevada."

At those competitions, the team has won multiple awards for its routines.

The Dancer's Mosaic is a good opportunity to see all the different dance styles that Jacque's Dance Expressions, based in Yuba City, offers, Ray said.

"The kids work really hard and practice up to five hours a day (and have to) carry a certain grade to stay on the team," she said. "(So) not only are they dancers, they're also making academic achievements.

"Our community needs to see what talent we have here. ... This is going to be an awesome show with some phenomenal talent."
