Jacque has been dancing non-stop from the age of 6. She is currently 41 years of age and has been teaching Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical for 22 years. Jacque is the owner of Jacque's Dance Expressions and has received many awards and acknowledgements for her choreography throughout Northern California.
Jacque's Dance Expressions opened March 9th, 1998 with a dream, one dance room and a few eager students. J.D.E has since grown into a fabulous, state of the art, three room dance studio with over 6,000 square feet. J.D.E currently has teachers who instruct Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip Hop lessons to approximately 500 students. I am proud to own a dance studio where the teachers and students love and respect the art of dance.
Since I was a little girl, dance has been an important outlet in my life. It has brought me the confidence and acceptance needed to carry me though the many trials of being young. I have always had dance to express myself just the way I needed to. It has taught me how to deal with failure gracefully and how to recognize achievement humbly. Through the many directions I have taken in my life, I have always come back to the dance floor for answers. I am not always great at expressing how I feel with words, but for some reason I’m able to express everything when I dance. Dance has been in my life for 35 years and is a big part of who I am today; a proud mommy, dedicated dancer and friend, supporting what I believe to be the very best thing imaginable, the gift of dance.
I watch these children give it their all, they go through so many emotions; frustration, excitement disappointment and joy. It’s reality; it’s being human, making mistakes and working through them to become better people. It's taking pride in what we do that gives us the stamina to work hard enough to get the where we want to be.
I witness children go through the transition of failure to success on a daily basis. It is both encouraging and fulfilling to see the amazement on their faces when they’ve finally got ‘it’. For me, there is no greater reward than to see confidence build in young dancers as they experience the joy of dance.
